K8s Lab

An interactive, bilingual lab to learn Kubernetes by practising on a real cluster, right in the browser.

Illustration: a seven-spoke ship’s wheel, like the Kubernetes logo.

The starting point

Learning Kubernetes takes practice on a real cluster, and installing one often discourages people before the first command. The goal: a single command, with Docker as the only prerequisite.

What was built

  • A real, lightweight Kubernetes cluster (k3s) started with the app and its database
  • The lesson on the left, a terminal wired to the cluster on the right: kubectl, helm, vim, jq, git
  • Automatic checking of every exercise, with XP, levels, streaks and badges
  • A dedicated track for the CKAD certification
  • Interface and content in English and French
  • A one-command install on macOS, Linux and Windows

Technologies
